The Rivers State House Of Assembly has dismissed the allegation by the Rivers State APC that it had a secret meeting with Governor Wike at the State Government House before approving the N10bn development loan request of the governor, saying that the Assembly received the request in plenary through a motion by Lawmaker Tonye Ezekiel Willy.
In a statement by the majority leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Mr Martins Amaehule noted that Governor Wike's request for the N10bn loan was read on the floor of the House on November 12th.
He said the public reading of the request on the floor of the house was reported and that was how the Rivers State APC heard of the loan.
The representative of Obio/Akpor State Constituency I, in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amewhule said the request by Governor Wike for a N10 billion n loan was received on the floor of the house on the 12th of November, 2015, and deliberated upon by the lawmakers before it was approved.
The lawmaker described as untrue the allegation by the Rivers State APC that the lawmakers met with Governor Wike at the Government House before approving the development loan.
The Majority Leader said that the House has never contravened Order 5 rule 1 of the house for it to sit before 10 Am. He wondered why the Rivers State APC plays politics with the development of the state.
