The Supreme Court has just ruled that the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has territorial jurisdiction to sit in Abuja following perceived security challenges in the state. The Rivers State Government, duly elected by the people, is not, in anyway, deterred by these slight hiccups emanating from politically influenced judicial processes.
As we know, the Governor is working tirelessly, despite these distractions, to deliver his campaign promises to the state. Constructions are still ongoing on Rivers roads; workers are being paid; debts are being cleared. Just yesterday, Governor Nyesom approved the payment of eight months’ salary arrears worth N300m owed the Rivers State Special Sports men and women by the previous administration.
The government will continue to uphold the people’s mandate until the last day of the constituted four-year tenure. The administration is always appreciative of the support by the people and seeks their prayers, because it believes that, in the end, Justice will prevail.
