Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo has called on Stakeholders in Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), to set aside their political inclinations and work collectively for the speedy restoration of peace in the area.
Dr. Banigo, in a Press Statement by her Press Secretary, Paul Damgbor, urged opinion leaders from the area to come together to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crime against humanity, adding that some politicians have capitalised on the situation to cast aspersions on perceived political opponents describing it as a dangerous trend that has generated unnecessary tension in the area.
She commended the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike for personally visiting ONELGA to address the people, noting that the visit has inspired hope and confidence in the residents of the area.
Dr. Banigo advised Youths to embrace peace and shun cultism, kidnapping and all forms of crime as such activities were inimical to their destiny and would retard development of their areas.
According to her “the Wike-led Government is committed to implementing his development blue print that would improve the living condition of all parts of the State. We must not drive away Investors by allowing enemies of progress to cause harm in the name of cult related crimes.” She advised.
The Deputy Governor noted that the plan by the Governor to kick-start the Clay factory in Egi Land is on course and solicited the support and co-operation of all to enable the State Government actualize the project.
